With this project, Biotec Sys in collaboration with Hera S.p.A. demonstrated the technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness of an integrated CO2 capture system from exhaust gases, using it in the anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge, waste and organic by-products in order to produce biogas/biomethane.
The technical-economic optimization of the process, which began in 2005 with a pilot plant at the wastewater treatment plant in the city of Bologna, achieved in 2012 the verification of application of the process on an industrial scale.
