This project, which began in 2018 and is still ongoing, conducted in collaboration with the Department of Agro-Food Sciences and Technologies (DISTAL) of the University of Bologna, concerned the treatment, storage and agronomic use of the palable digestate produced by different biogas plants in agro-energy companies.
The R&D activity has allowed to obtain a rapid myco / microbiological conversion of the palable digestate into an “agro-biostimulating amendment” product with a high agronomic and environmental value. The production of the agro-biostimulant was obtained starting from selected batches of the saprophytic fungal inoculum in sufficient quantity for the inoculation of “aerated static heaps” of palatable digestate set up and managed from May to June and from July to September.
The agronomic use in open field in pre-sowing, in a sequential cultivation scheme of autumn / winter cereals and waxy maize, has achieved in the primary cultivation and in the second crop a good production of winter and chopped maize in increasing quantities to the growing presence of the agro-biostimulating soil conditioner in pre-sowing.
